Dan Patch | |
Dear friends,
A gathering to remember and celebrate the life of Dan Patch will be held: Sunday, January
8, 2006, 1:30 p.m. There will be an opportunity to share your thoughts or a favorite memory of Dan. If you already know you want to speak, we would like to include you on the printed program, so do tell us. Wear casual clothes and dress for the weather; most parking is unpaved, and the venue is an open aircraft hangar. Jill, Susan and Steve Patch
Contact us with any questions. For planning purposes, kindly let us know if you will be attending: EMail: Jill Patch or 858-488-6427 Driving directions: Take either Interstate 5 or 805 South to 905 East (Otay Mesa Rd.), which runs along the U.S./Mexico border. Proceed east. From the 805/905 intersection, drive about 3 miles to the 4th traffic signal at Cactus Rd.; turn left. (Landmarks: "Subway" sandwich sign on the southeast corner of the intersection; painted "Welcome to Brown Field" sign at the entrance.) Turn right immediately. Look for small white "EAA" signs marking the way -- they may have orange streamers or balloons tied to them. The road forms a T intersection with Continental Street at the old terminal building. Turn right (east) at the T; the new FAA control tower can be seen 1/4 mile ahead on the left. The EAA hangars are at the base of the new control tower. Follow the road and "EAA" signs to the tower and hangars. (Stop first, then cross the abandoned taxiway encountered.) |
